About the Artists
Sara Angelucci is a visual artist working in photography, video and audio, as well as an educator. She holds a MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Her work has been presented across Canada, Europe, China, Australia and the U.S. She has participated in artist residencies at NSCAD (Halifax), the Banff Centre, and Biz-Art in Shanghai.
Douglas Coupland was born in CFB Baden-Söllingen, West Germany in 1961, he lives in Vancouver. He is a novelist, visual artist and designer. Coupland is a graduate of the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, the Hokkaido College of Art and Design in Sapporo, Japan and the Instituto Europeo di Design in Milan, Italy. Coupland’s work has been exhibited extensively and his work can be found in many Canadian and international public and private collections. In 2014 he was awarded both the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia.
Wally Dion was born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Canada in 1976. He is a visual artist living in Binghamton, New York. He is a member of Yellow Quill First Nation (Salteaux). Dion graduated with a MFA from Rhode Island School of Design. He has exhibited throughout Canada and the USA. Dion’s work can be found in numerous prominent collections.
Pierre Dorion was born in Ottawa 1959. He is a graduate of the University of Ottawa in 1981. He has exhibited widely and is represented many public and private collections. In 1997, Dorion was awarded the prix Louis-Comtois from the City of Montreal in collaboration with AGAC (Association des galeries d’art contemporain).

Angela Grossman was born in London, UK in 1955. She is a Vancouver-based visual artist. She holds a MFA from Concordia University. She has taught at Ottawa University, Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and University of British Columbia. Over the last two decades her paintings and collages have been the subject of more than 20 solo shows in Canada, the U.S. Europe and Japan.
Yam Lau was born in Hong Kong in 1972. He moved to Canada when he was fifteen. He holds a MFA in painting from University of Alberta, Canada. He is a professor of fine arts at York University, Toronto. He has exhibited widely and his works have been included in numerous public and private collections.
Gord Peteran was born in Toronto in 1956. He is a sculptor, and currently a professor at Ontario College of Art and Design University. Peteran has also taught at Sheridan College in Oakville, the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, the Haystack Mountain School in Maine, the Penland School in North Carolina and The California College of Arts. He has been creating artworks for corporate offices, public institutions and private clients for the past 20 years.
Ed Pien was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1958 and moved to Canada in 1959. He holds a MFA from York University in Toronto. He is a visual artist and professor of drawing teaching in various universities including University of Toronto and Concordia University, Montreal. He has exhibited around the world and has had multiple touring exhibitions.
Max Streicher was born in Olds, Alberta, Canada in 1958. He is a sculptor and installation artist living in Toronto. He holds a MFA from York University, Toronto. Best known for his inflatable sculptures, he has exhibited extensively around the world.
Carol Wainio was born in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada in 1955. She holds a MFA from Concordia University. She is a painter and currently an adjunct professor at the university of Ottawa. She has exhibited widely in Canada and internationally. She is the recipient of numerous grants and awards, including the Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts, 2014.
